History of the Organization

Frederick and Erika Hill have been developing a resource development and consulting ministry called the Society for Education and Economic Development, Inc. (SEED, Inc.)  since September, 2002. Originally from Monrovia, Liberia, Frederick and Erika came to the United States in 1979. Erika is a graduate of Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio where she received a Master of Science in Personnel Management. Frederick has a Master of Business Administration and Master of Public Health degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.  Frederick served as Director of Financial Development for the Center for Urban Missions in Birmingham, Alabama for several years. He provided financial development expertise to support the ministry’s goals. In 1998, Frederick and Erika went as independent Christian missionaries to the African Country of the Ivory Coast and served there for more than two years.

Mission of SEED

The mission of the Society for Education and Economic Development (SEED) as a marketplace and community outreach ministry is to focus on building strategic alliances and training leaders to change lives and transform communities.

SEED uses as a scriptural mandate the words of Paul in Ephesians 4:12 - "...to prepare (train or equip) God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up...".  Another theme come from the words of Jesus Christ from the biblical text in Luke 6:48 that a wise person “….is like a man building a House who dug deep and laid a Foundation upon a Rock.”
